Threads on directly. The Celestron C14 optical tube has the standard 2 in x 24 TPI SCT rear-cell thread, so a Celestron SCT T-adapter screws straight on and a camera-brand T-ring then mounts the body at prime focus, giving a 3910 mm native focal length.
A camera reaches a telescope's prime focus through a T-adapter that matches the telescope's interface on one side and the standard T-thread, M42 x 0.75, on the other. A camera-brand T-ring then bayonets to the body.
At prime focus the whole telescope acts as a 3910 mm f/11 lens. A focal reducer that also threads to the SCT rear cell shortens this for a wider field and faster exposures.
